ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to establish Digital Enforcement Stations. The initiative aims to curb smuggling and illegal trade across the country.

FBR sources said the stations will have full authority to prevent unlawful commercial activities. Individuals involved in smuggling will be apprehended promptly by enforcement staff.

The board has requested Rs10 billion to set up these Digital Enforcement Stations. The funds will cover technology, staff hiring, and operational expenses.

Existing check posts will also be converted into Digital Enforcement Stations. This transition is expected to strengthen the government’s anti-smuggling framework and improve monitoring efficiency.

Retired officers and soldiers from the armed forces will be hired on contract basis. They will fill vacant positions and bring valuable experience to enforcement activities.

Officials said the Digital Enforcement Stations are a key step to reduce smuggling and illegal trade. The program aims to protect revenue and promote lawful commerce nationwide.
